2010S SHIRTS
Close enough to remember watching, old enough to have stopped being made. These are the Messi and Neymar Barcelona kits, Robben and Van Persie for the Netherlands, Pogba and Pirlo at Juventus. Modern classics, and the shirts that are becoming hard to find first.
More information
The decade that is only now going vintage
Ten years is roughly how long it takes for a football shirt to stop being last season's kit and start being wanted again. That line is being crossed right now for the 2010s. The 2012-13 Barcelona home, the 2014 Netherlands away, the Juventus third kits: these were ordinary purchases at the time and are steadily disappearing from circulation.
Technically they are the peak of the polyester era, with laser cut ventilation, heat bonded seams and no stitching at all in places. The fit is athletic and true to size, which makes 2010s jerseys the most straightforward vintage shirts to actually wear.
The kits in this decade
Barcelona is the deepest run, through Messi and Neymar, alongside Real Madrid with Kaká and Manchester United with Van Persie and Di María. Juventus covers Pogba, Pirlo and the last Del Piero seasons, Roma brings Totti and Milan brings Ibrahimović.
International football from these years is strong too. The Netherlands across the 2010 and 2014 World Cup cycles with Robben and Van Persie, Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo, Italy in Puma, France with Griezmann, and Belgium in the short-lived Burrda years, a supplier deal so brief that those kits barely exist in numbers.
Player issue kits are common here
More player issue shirts survive from this decade than any other, because clubs produced them in larger runs. They are cut tighter than the replica, use a different fabric weight, and often have the number applied differently. Where a shirt is player issue it is stated on the product page, along with anything else worth knowing such as tags still attached.
What comes before and after
The heavier, looser cuts and the Galáctico names are in 2000s football shirts. The most recent kits we handle, including World Cup final shirts from 2022, are in 2020s football shirts. Sizing across this decade is close to modern but still worth checking against the measurements on each listing rather than the label.
Good to know
- Are 2010s shirts really vintage yet?
- They are on the way. Roughly ten years is how long it takes for a kit to stop being last season and start being sought after. Several designs from this decade are already out of circulation entirely.
- How do these jerseys fit?
- Athletic and close to true to label, which makes them the most straightforward vintage shirts to wear day to day. The measurements on the product page remain the reliable check.
- What does player issue mean?
- It is the version made for the squad rather than for sale to supporters. Tighter cut, different fabric and often a different number application. More of these survive from the 2010s than any other decade.
- What condition can I expect?
- Generally very good. These shirts are a decade old rather than forty years old, so prints are usually intact and wear is limited. Every listing still carries its own grade and photos.
- What does shipping cost?
- Shipping is free within the Netherlands and Belgium on orders from 100 euro, and free worldwide from 150 euro. Everything ships tracked.
