The Charisteas shirt, numbered 9, is the design he wore heading in the only goal of the final against host nation Portugal, a result nobody had priced in before the tournament started.
Dellas, the semi-final against the Czech Republic
The Dellas shirt, numbered 5, carries the same story a round earlier: his header eliminated the Czech Republic in extra time of the semi-final, the goal that put Greece into a final it then won. Greece had already knocked out the reigning champions, France, in the quarterfinal on the way there, a run built on a squad mixing players from Greek clubs with a handful based abroad.
