Two 1992-94 home shirts, in different sizes, are from the same years Spain's under-23 side won Olympic gold on home soil in Barcelona, a separate squad from the senior team these shirts belong to. A 1994-96 home shirt is from the 1994 World Cup in the United States, the tournament Spain went out of in the quarterfinal to Italy after a challenge that broke Luis Enrique's nose went unpunished. A 1996-98 Hierro shirt follows into Euro 96, lost on penalties to England in the quarterfinal, and a 1998-99 Raul shirt, numbered 10, carries the team into the 1998 World Cup in France, where Spain went out in the group stage as one of the tournament's early shocks.

The 2004-06 shirts, Puyol in 5 and Raul in 7, are from the run into the 2006 World Cup in Germany, a last-sixteen loss to France that ended Raul's last World Cup for the national side. A plain 1998-99 away shirt and a 1996-98 home shirt round out the stock from the years around it.
