ZINEDINE ZIDANE SHIRTS

The Juventus shirts here run from 1995-96 through to 1999-2000, all home kits, all #21, and all made by Kappa. This is where Zidane won back to back Serie A titles and built the reputation that took him to Real Madrid, and it's the deepest run in the collection: four separate seasons in stock, several in size XL. For a lot of collectors this is the Zidane number that comes first, before the 5 and the 10 that followed.

At Real Madrid Zidane wore #5, an unusual choice for a playmaker more often numbered 10, across shirts from 2001-02 through 2005-06. Home, away and a 2002-03 Centenary third kit marking the club's hundredth anniversary all appear here, every one made by Adidas. The Real Madrid years were also his most decorated at club level, and the number 5 on the back is what most people search for when they think of him in white.

The France shirts carry #10 across seasons from 1998-2000 through to 2006-07, in home and away versions, made by Adidas throughout. That stretch runs from the 1998 World Cup on home soil to the 2006 final, the last tournament of his career, and both ends of it are represented in the current stock. Together with the Juventus and Real Madrid years, this collection sits mostly in the late nineties and the 2000s, and every shirt is an original from its own season, hand-checked and photographed on its own, with sizes measured pit to pit and top to bottom against the label of the period.
