A team that outlived the breakup

Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and North Macedonia had already split away and fielded their own sides through the nineties, but the national team kept playing as Yugoslavia, drawing on Serbia and Montenegro, right through to February 2003, when the country itself was renamed Serbia and Montenegro and the football team followed a few months later. Many of the players who wore this badge came through Red Star Belgrade, the club that had been champions of Europe as recently as 1991.

Adidas, then Lotto, then the end

The 2001-02 home shirt is Adidas, the last season before Lotto took the contract for the 2002-03 away shirt in this collection, still with tags. A 2003-05 training shirt is later still, made in the final stretch before the Yugoslavia name left international football for good.
