Germany's number 10

The 1994-96 Germany home shirt carries #10, worn during the years Matthäus captained the national side as one of its most experienced players. It's the earlier of the two pieces here and the only international shirt in this collection.

Bayern Munich's number 10

The 1997-99 Bayern Munich home shirt carries the same #10, from later in his career back at the club where he first made his name. Both shirts are made by Adidas and sit either side of the mid 1990s, originals from their own season, hand-checked and photographed individually, and sized pit to pit and top to bottom rather than to a modern label. As with the rest of the catalogue, each piece is one of one: a single shirt in a single size.
