FRANCE SHIRTS
France has won one World Cup and one European Championship, lost two more finals of each, and this collection of forty-one shirts covers all of it, from a plain 1985-90 Adidas jersey through Zidane's era to the Nike kits Mbappé wears now. Every shirt is the original from its own season, not a reissue, and each has been condition-checked before listing.
More information
Before the trophies
The oldest pieces here are Adidas jerseys from 1985-90 and 1994-96, plain by later standards with none of the sponsor detail that came later, plus a 1992-93 goalkeeper shirt marked match issue from the squad's Euro 92 campaign in Sweden, a tournament France went out of in the group stage. A 1996-97 home shirt and a 1996-98 shirt sit either side of that, from the buildup squad Aimé Jacquet was assembling before the years that followed.
1998, champions at home
The 1998-00 Adidas home shirt is the kit France wore winning the World Cup on home soil, Zidane scoring twice in the final against Brazil, and it sits in this collection alongside a young Henry in the same shirt, numbered 12, before he moved on to Arsenal and the number 14. Two years later the same core won Euro 2000 on a golden goal from Trezeguet, and the 2000-02 shirts here, Zidane, Henry and Barthez the goalkeeper in 16, are from that title too. A 2002-04 Trezeguet shirt and several more Zidane home and away jerseys from that cycle round out the group, including one still sealed BNIB.
Zidane's last final
The 2006-07 Zidane shirts, home and away, are from his final season with France, the one that ended in the World Cup final against Italy, a game he opened with a penalty and closed by being sent off. It is the last Adidas-era shirt of real weight in the collection before the brand's grip on the kit loosened.
Nike years, two finals and a title
Nike's shirts here span three tournaments a decade apart. The 2016-17 Griezmann shirt, marked BNWT Final, and a matching Pogba jersey are from the Euro 2016 final France lost at home to Portugal, a tournament Griezmann finished as top scorer. The 2018-19 Mbappé shirt is the kit a nineteen-year-old Mbappé wore winning the World Cup in Russia that summer, and the 2022-23 Mbappé and Giroud shirts, both marked Final, are from the World Cup final in Qatar that France lost to Argentina on penalties after Mbappé's hat-trick.
