FC Utrecht and Castore Launch the 2024/2025 Fourth Shirt
The fourth shirt by FC Utrecht for the 2024/2025 season is more than just a stylish retro design – it’s a tribute to the club’s golden era in the 1980s. Created in collaboration with kit manufacturer Castore, this new release breathes nostalgia and brings Dutch football history back to life.
Inspired by FC Utrecht’s Glory Days in the 1980s
Between 1983 and 1989, FC Utrecht experienced some of its most iconic moments, including lifting the KNVB Cup. The 2024/2025 retro shirt draws its design directly from this period. Featuring a classic V-neck, vintage color scheme, and authentic detailing, this kit is a direct nod to one of the most celebrated eras in Utrecht’s history.
The official launch took place at the historic Slot Zuylen castle and included appearances from club legends such as John van Loen, Michael Mols, Sébastien Haller, Willem Janssen, and Marthe Munsterman – a fitting venue for a kit that honours legacy and tradition.
Legends Day at Stadion Galgenwaard
The shirt will make its on-pitch debut on Sunday, April 13, during the home match against FC Groningen. This day, dubbed Legends Day, will celebrate past heroes and iconic moments from the club’s history. The new retro shirt serves as a powerful symbol of the connection between past and present.
